What is BlueFruitGames?
BlueFruitGames is a single-person project by me, Bastian Lang, a passionate game developer from Germany. BlueFruitGames is all about Game Development. Currently, mostly focussed on Unreal Engine 5 I provide insights into past projects and also document my current endavours. I also create tutorials that assist you in getting started with Unreal Engine or provide solutions to more specific problems you may encounter.
Where I come from
I started out as a tax office in Germany, but quickly realized that this profession wasn’t alligned with my interests. Because of this realization I decided to explore the world of programming. So I started my journey by doing Bachelor’s in “Applied Computer Science” at the University of Essen.
While enjoying programming in general, for me these studies were to focused on the economic part of programming. Because of this, I decided to look into a field of programming that seemed more fun to me: Game Development. What started as a side hobby quickly transformed into a fulfilling passion which lead me to pursue a carrer in the game industry. I started programming my first prototypes inside of Uniyt. But since I was more interested in programming exciting 3D-expiereinces I decided to switch to Unreal Engine around 2 years ago. Currently, I’m doing a “Master in Games” at the IT University of Copenhagen.
The goal of BlueFruitGames?
While there is a perception that Unreal Engine can be daunting to master, I want to assure you that learning the fundamentals and getting started with Unreal Engine is far from terrifying.
If I can do it, so can you.
During my time at the ITU, I already collaborated with people from across Europe on various projects.
You can look into those projects on the Projects page. On this site, I strive to offer a glimpse into my projects.
Additionally, you can also find a variety of tutorials that will help you to start your own journey inside of Unreal Engine.
For each tutorial I try to create a video version that can you can access on my YouTube channel.
I will also try to provide regular exercises at the end of each tutorial to put your new knowledge into practice.
